Committee Appointments on Tap for Council Meeting

First regular meeting of 2013 will also establish meeting schedule for new year.

After the Hackettstown Mayor and Council held its reorganization meeting on New Year’s Day, now it’s time for the governing body to start making decisions and appointing members to committees.

That’s the plan for the meeting on Thursday, according to the council’s agenda.

The council consists of members Jerry DiMaio, Scott Sheldon, William Conforti, John Stout and Eric Tynan. The council will vote to approve the following council committees and members:

Fire: DiMaio, Sheldon, Stout  
Sanitation: Kunz, Conforti, Tynan
Police: DiMaio, Conforti, Tynan
Welfare: Kunz, DiMaio, Stout
Lighting: Kunz, Sheldon, Stout
Recreation: Tynan, Kunz, Stout
Printing, License and Franchise: Tynan, Sheldon, Conforti 
Public Works: Conforti, DiMaio, Sheldon     
Ordinance & Municipal Affairs: Stout, Kunz, Tynan
Finance: Conforti, DiMaio, Tynan
Insurance: Tynan, DiMaio, Sheldon
Personnel & Employee Negotiating: Sheldon, DiMaio, Conforti
Rescue Squad Coordinating: Sheldon, Conforti, Kunz
Community Development: Stout, Sheldon, Kunz
Board of Education Liaison: Conforti, Kunz, Stout
College Liaison: DiMaio, Stout, Tynan

Officers for the fire police will also be sworn in, as well as the mayor appointing police matrons and crossing guards.

The Mayor and Council will also establish meeting times and dates for 2013.

The meeting is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. The session begins at 7 p.m. at the municipal building on Stiger Street.
