Police: Drunken Man Fell Asleep at Quick Chek, Threatened EMS Members

A drunken man who fell asleep on a table inside the Quick Chek on Main Street Wednesday night threatened EMS members trying to provide him treatment, Hackettstown Police said.

Michael Tansey, 53, of Hackettstown, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct after police were called to the convenience store shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The responding officer found Tansey lying on a table and appeared intoxicated, according to Sgt. Darren Tynan. Tansey then threatened EMS members and began to "disrupt normal business," Tynan said.

Tansey was transported to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center for treatment.
