Teen Accused of Making Threats, Breaking Dorm Window

Jaquill Waters, 19, was restrained by Centenary College officials after he threatened students and staff and broke a window, police said.

A Newark man was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief at a Centenary College dormitory after he broke a window and threatened students and staff, Hackettstown Police said.

Jaquill Waters, 19, was in the Anderson Dormitory at the college campus at approximately 1:10 a.m. early Sunday morning when he allegedly punched and broke a window in the building's stairwell, according to police.

When Hackettstown Police arrived at the college, they said Centenary security guards had Waters restrained in the dorm hallway. In addition to the broken window, police said Waters used profanity and made verbal threats in the presence of students and college staff.

Police said the man refused medical attention for his injuries. There was no indication if Waters was a student at the college or a visitor there.

Waters was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief and released pending a court date and was released pending a court appearance, police said.
