Fugitive Had Oxycontin in Court, Police Say
Hackettstown resident was in court for an alleged DWI.
A Hackettstown man appearing in court for a driving under the influence charge was found to have illegal prescription drugs in his possession, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.
Thomas O'Neil, 54, was approached by police during a Hackettstown Municipal Court session Wednesday morning after authorities learned he had an active wanted person warrant issued by Monroe County, Pa. Sheriff's Office, Tynan said. The warrant was issued for failure to appear in court, Tynan said.
When officers spoke with O'Neil, they found four suspected Oxycontin pills in his possession, Tynan said.

O'Neil was charged with being a fugitive from justice and possession of Oxycontin. O'Neil was lodged in Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500.
