Drunk Man Resisted Arrest Inside Bakery, Cops Say

A Hackettstown man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest Sunday afternoon when police found him intoxicated inside a local business, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

Cesar Agusto-Hernandez, 34, was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and having an open container of alcohol.

Police responded to Harper's Bagel & Bakery on Main Street to respond to a reported of an intoxicated man inside the business shortly before 1 p.m., Tynan said. Police found Agusto-Hernandez sitting at a table drinking a can of beer, Tynan said. The business does not sell alcohol.

Employees of the business said Agusto-Hernandez entered the bakery and attempted to walk into the kitchen area, Tynan said. 

When police spoke with Agusto-Hernandez, he became agitated and tried backing away from them, Tynan siad. Officers asked Agusto-Hernandez to put his hands behind his back, but he refused, Tynan said.

Officers were able to apprehend Agusto-Hernandez and place him under arrest, Tynan said.
