Disorderly Man Barked at Neighbors, Cops Say

Police diffuse dispute, but end up making arrest for loud resident.

A Hackettstown man was arrested for disorderly conduct Saturday night after barking like a dog and bothering his neighbors, police said.

Police responded to a block on West Plane Street for a report of a neighborly dispute, Sgt. Darren Tynan said. One neighbor complained another had an active fire pit burning and there was underage drinking taking place, Tynan said.

When police searched the area, it was determined no underage drinking had occurred, Tynan said. The neighbors then said they would stay within their homes and leave each other alone, Tynan said.

When officers began leaving, they heard one of the neighbors, Timothy Rendon, 24, barking like a dog and talking loudly through the wall to his neighbor, Tynan said. Rendon was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
