Drunken Teen Accused of Trying to Bite Hospital Nurse

New York resident fell down a flight of stairs at Centenary College, police said.

An 17-year-old New York resident was drunk when he fell down a flight of stairs at Centenary College and attempted to bite a nurse at the hospital, Hackettstown Police said.

The teen, of Ronkonkama, N.Y., was charged with two counts of alcohol consumption by a minor and disorderly conduct, Sgt Darren Tynan said.

Police responded to a call at Smith Hall at Centenary College early Sunday morning and found the victim, whose name was withheld because of his age, lying on a sofa, Tynan said.

After an investigation, police said the man had been drinking Everclear, a high-proof liquor, and had fallen down a flight of stairs.

Police did not say if the teen was a student at the college.

After the Hackettstown Rescue Squad took the teen to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center for treatment, police said he became "combative" and tried to bite an ER nurse.

The teen was charged and released pending a court appearance.
