Anna Corda, Homemaker and Former Beautician, Dies at 86

Corda was an avid Notre Dame football fan who believed that if she watched the Fighting Irish play, the team would win.

Anna M. Corda, of Hackettstown, died last Friday at home, according to a notice on the website of Cochran Funeral Home.  She was 86 years old.

Born in Newark, Corda grew up to become a homemaker, mother, grandmother and wife.  She also worked for PSE&G and as a beautician.

Her family recalled her was a loving presence in the home. She enjoyed roller skating, racquetball and tennis.  Corda was an avid Notre Dame football fan who believed that if she watched the Fighting Irish play, the team would win.  In her younger years she worked for PSE&G and for most of her adult life she also worked as a beautician.

Corda is survived by one of her sons, Robert Corda and wife Ellie; daughters JoAnn Perrelli and husband Frank and Debra Mandarakas; brothers Barry Martino and Alan Weber, sisters-in-law Barbara Martino and Kay Weber; sisters Lorraine Winecker, Margaret Peterlin and Virginia Chandler; and seven grandchildren.

A cremation was private, with arrangements managed by the Cochran Funeral Home..  A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of the Mountain Church, Long Valley on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
