Ann Hillard, Retired School Cafeteria Assistant, Dies at 62

Hillard, a wife, mother and CCD instructor, was last employed by the Hackettstown Board of Education as a cafeteria assistant.

Hackettstown resident Ann R. Peare Hillard died Wednesday at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center with her family at her bedside, according to a notice on the website of Cochran Funeral Home. She was 62 at the time of her death.

Born in Paterson, N.J., Hillard was a longtime resident of Hackettstown. She previously worked at House of the Good Shepherd Nursing facility in Hackettstown and was last employed by the Hackettstown Board of Education as a cafeteria assistant, retiring many years ago.

Hillard was a parishioner of Saint Mary's Church of the Assumption in Hackettstown and once served as a religious education instructor. She was also a wife and mother who loved crafting, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Hillard; son Robert E. Hillard, of  Hackettstown; daughter Danielle Hillard ,of Netcong; brother William R. Peare, Jr., of Florida; and her two "feline children."

Visitation takes place Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at tCochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at noon at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, 305 High St. Interment will be private.
