The Hackettstown BID's 6th Annual St. Patrick's Parade is on its way! March 16th, 2014 will find the town filled with thousands of spectators from the surrounding area coming to Hackettstown to enjoy the biggest parade of the year.

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District is excited to bring its St Patrick’s Parade once again to town on Sunday March 16th. Attracting over 14,000 visitors making it the biggest event in Hackettstown, the streets come alive with area families lining the streets celebrating this Irish-American tradition. To get everyone in the Celtic Spirit, the HBID will be honoring this years Grand Marshal, Mr. Denis O’Rourke with a gala reception at David’s Country Inn on Friday March 7, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Adding to this year’s celebration Centenary Stage Company is hosting Lúnasa, internationally acknowledged as the finest Irish instrumental band of recent times, performing on Saturday March 15th 8:00 pm at the David & Carol Lackland Center. For more information, go to www.centenarystageco.org!
The parade kicks of at 3:30 pm with Mr. Denis O’Rourke leading the over 70 participating groups including Irish bands, Community Groups, Bagpipes, Drums, Centenary College Clubs and Groups, Horses, Dancers, Fire Departments and Rescue Squads and hometown favorites the Junior and Senior Colonial Musketeers and the Hackettstown Community Band.
This year’s parade will feature the 2nd Annual Float contest with it’s theme St. Patrick and Irish Heritage. Also getting in the action again this year will be our four legged friends in their own St Patrick and Irish Heritage costume contest. As Parade Week approaches, look for specials and offers from your local businesses to get the town into the Irish spirit!
