Students Hoop It Up For County Crisis Center

Centenary College hosts sports fundraiser to aid Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center.

Students at Centenary College are giving back to the community in their first year of attending the school, according to a press release from the college.

Made possible by the efforts of the Sports Management Academic Foundations Course, students played a 3-on-3 game to raise money for the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County, the release said.

Each three-member team donated $10, with 20 teams participating in the hoops tournament, raising $200 for the Center.

The students were so enthusiastic about the effort they decided it would continue each year through graduation, the release said.

“I am so pleased that this class decided to run this fundraiser for the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center and they have a long-term commitment to the organization,” said Jackie Schwier, Primary Prevention Coordinator for DASACC in the statement. “These funds will be used to fund holiday gifts for the children that we service.”
