Centenary College senior Jelena Markovic has left her mark on the school both on the volleyball court and in the classroom.
And now that’s officially being recognized by the state of New Jersey.
Markovic has been named the 2012-13 New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) Woman of the Year for student-athlete excellence, according to the school’s athletic department.
The honor was awarded Sunday at a luncheon for the organization at Seton Hall University.
Markovic finished the volleyball season ranked tops in the nation in aces per set for the second consecutive year, the school said. The student also serves as a resident assistant (RA) at the college.
