Hundreds of spectators, customers and fans of M&M products spent an afternoon in Hackettstown Tuesday, as the town proclaimed Oct. 16 Mars Chocolate North America Day.

In conjunction with the ribbon-cutting ceremony that would officially mark the grand opening of the chocolate manufacturers first-ever "pop-up" store, a portion of High Street was renamed M&M's Chocolate Avenue.

Local and state-level officials came out to support and recognize the company, whose factory has been located in town since 1958.

An unveiling of the street sign took place in front of the High Street factory, followed by an opening and tour of the retail space on Main Street.
