Man Was Drunk in Head-On Crash, Cops Say

Mansfield Township resident hits truck, which pushes into second vehicle, police report.

A Mansfield Township man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after hitting another vehicle head-on in Hackettstown Saturday night, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

Volovhiy Myhajl, 28, was heading southbound on Route 182 (Mountain Avenue) when he turned right onto Route 57, Tynan said. In making the turn, Myhajl crashed into a pick-up truck driven by a Newton man, who was stopped in the left-turn lane, Tynan said.

Due to the impact between Myhajl and Dierling’s vehicles, the car behind Dierling was also struck, which was driven by a Milford woman, Tynan said.
